Making
Arrangements
The object of the Lihue Public Cemetery Association is "to establish, conduct and maintain a public cemetery where the bodies of deceased persons of all nationalities who have been residents of the County Kauai, or who died in this County, may be buried free of charge."
At the present time (2025) there is no room for new graves, unless it involves one casket over another. We are in the process of getting approval to make more space available through landfill, but until that time, we have space for urns only to be placed in the ground with a headstone.
If you wish to inquire about having cremains buried at Lihue Cemetery, please contact the cemetery by email (lihuecemetery@gmail.com) or by phone (808-652-3847). Once your application has been approved, you will be instructed about how to make arrangements for digging the grave and procuring a headstone.
